Where will you go on this Valentine’s Day? Do you want
to have a fun yet romantic getaway and look good on Instagram with relatively
low budget? Do you want to recharge yourself without taking long leave? Valentine’s
Day will fall on Monday, so you can advantage the long holiday break from
Saturday ‘til Monday to visit our neighbor, Singapore!
Some friends have asked me, isn’t Singapore only have
shopping malls or Universal Studio? Oops, worry not! There are so much
delicious affordable culinary with tons of unique sightseeing places! I promise
your holiday picture will look soo good on Instagram. These places are
recommended by St. Valentine himself (LOL).
DAY 1:
SATURDAY
09.00 – 12.00 Depart from Soekarno Hatta Airport (I am
based in Jakarta) and arrive in Changi Airport. Before you leave the airport, don’t
forget to take a snap at Sunflower Garden Rooftop (located in Terminal 1).
A big sunflower garden which people rarely know. Yass! |
13.00 – 13.30 Hotel Check-In; or just put your luggage at hotel lobby concierge.
14.00 – 15.30 Beautiful Artsy lunch or buy Afternoon Treats Special at Arteastiq, Mandarin Gallery Orchard. The place is so pretty, you can eat cake while channeling your inner painter soul.
Super Yummy Afternoon Tea. Across the black wall, the other side is transparent window overlooking pretty garden! |
17.30 – 18.30 Snack up at Gyozaya. They offer the best
gyoza (Japanese steamed dumpling) in Singapore. You can pick grill or fried
gyoza, topped with shrimp, fired mayonnaise (mentaiko) even a lobster topping!

19.00 – 21.00 Night strolling at Little India or Mustafa
Centre.
TIPS
- · This itinerary is within walking distance, so it’s better for you to buy paper ticket than to pay non-refundable deposit (SGD 5) for an EZ Link card. FYI, paper ticket can be used up to 7 times. If you already have EZ Link card, you can top up at machine directly without queuing.
- · At Arteastiq, the most beautiful and the most artsy tea café in Singapore, you can learn how to paint whilst enjoying delicious tea and broad varieties of tea. Western Lunch menu package is also available with its unique menu and affordable price. To be more friendly to your purse, don’t forget to download discount apps or google a buy 1 get 1 package; so you can taste a luxurious afternoon tea set contains tea, cake, prata roll, peking duck sandwich, and cocktail shrimp as cheap as SGD 18 pp.
- In Mustafa Centre, 24 hours shopping haul, you can buy branded perfume with low price! Other than perfumes, tons of beauty products like shampoo, lotion and cosmetics are cheaply sold too. You can also try hawkers stalls across Mustafa Centre who sell Indian lamb curry, prata bread or the magnificent mango lassi. Yummy!

TIPS
- · Beside Ann Siang Hill branch, PS Café also has many branches in Harding Road, Palais Renaissance dan Dempsey Hill. All of the branches have a main characteristics, which is their strong British nuance surrounded by greenish lush. Such a great way to indulge your eyes and start the day! Please do booking in advance because the place is sooo famous!
- · Merlion Park. I believe you certainly know this, eh? Mer means ocean while Lion means lion (obviously). There are 5 Merlion statues located all over Singapore, the biggest one is located near to Esplanade. After taking picture with Merlion, you can snap yourself in the row of luxurious hotels in Esplanade Walk. You really need to go inside One Fullerton Hotel where Clifford Pier (a very instagrammable spot) is located! You need to book if you want to eat there because last time I was there were no table left for several hours :(
